Learner Code of Conduct

Becoming a learner on the CABI Academy platform makes you part of a global community who are motivated to learn more about agriculture and the environment. We believe that sharing information, knowledge and experiences between learners improves the learning process.

Being part of the CABI Academy community of learners allows you to interact with others in forum activities. This code of conduct outlines requirements and respectful behaviours that CABI expects from learners who are joining the CABI Academy community.

We expect all activity on the platform to follow the code of conduct. If you do not follow the code of conduct, your account and/or your posts may be removed by the CABI Academy team.

Code of conduct

You agree to the following code of conduct:

  • You are 16 years of age or above.
  • When posting to forum activities, you will be respectful to other learners and not use offensive, discriminatory and combative language in your posts or replies.
  • Unless requested to do so in an activity, you will not use generative AI tools to write posts or replies in course forum activities. All written posts should contain your own original work.
  • You will not copy and paste comments from other learners in the forum activity posts or replies. All written posts should contain your own original work.
  • You will not share personal details with other learners, or request personal details from other learners.
  • When taking part in quizzes or assessment activities, you will not disrupt the learning experience for others by sharing answers.
  • You will not write posts that advertise products or services for commercial gain or benefit.

You can report any concerning behaviour by using the ‘help’ tool at the top of the site to contact the CABI Academy team.

Moderation

The CABI Academy team does not monitor every comment made in the platform, and may only moderate comments that learners have reported to the Academy Team.

Enforcement of the code of conduct

All reports made to the CABI Academy team will be reviewed and taken seriously. Those going against the code of conduct may have their comments/ posts removed, may have their ability to make posts on forum activities removed, or may have their account removed from the CABI Academy platform altogether.
